CIM’s presence in Myanmar dates back to such year where no else has dared entering the market. Accomplished through a mission trip through our Colliers Thailand office the company pioneered the very first property research report in Myanmar.
We have commenced our first ever consultancy project with Schlumberger. We have similarly expanded our valuation services to accommodate the growing number of companies starting to realize opportunities in the country.
Received the first property management project for Centrepoint Tower with a team of 4. In the same year, we have assisted in the entry of Nestle into the country, among other MNCs, specifically setting up its first HQ office in Yangon.
We have officially branched out from the Thailand office, leading us to autonomously operate in the country as CIM. This has enabled us to gain traction from both local and foreign companies needing for advisory and consultancy services. We have similarly started transacting lease spaces for more MNCs.
CIM was appointed by the Golden City development to provide property management consultancy services. In the same year, CIM has decided to geographically expand its industry knowledge to other locations such as Mandalay, Bagan, Ngapali, Ngwe Saung, Mawlamyine, among others.
Entry of new projects have strongly streamed across all service lines. Notable projects include CIM participation in the 60-acre railway redevelopment project in Downtown Yangon; induction of exclusive landlord representation for the first Grade A office building (Sule Square) in Yangon; expansion of research and advisory capacity to conduct industrial studies starting with Dawei Special Economic Zone.
Taking a step further in the growth ladder, CIM moved to a premium Grade A office building in Downtown Yangon with a staff of more than 30 people. In such year, we have published the country’s first ever property market reports for locations such as Myeik and Ngwe Saung. We have similarly improved our township-scale studies, venturing into larger-sized properties and developments of various scales and complexities with sizes ranging from 500 acres to as much as 22,000 acres. The growing interest in the country has also paved the way for our investment services to further thrive with listings varying between commercial, residential, and land across the country.
Successfully launched Project Sales &
Marketing service line with Phwint Phyo Thit
as our first client. In detail, we have
contributed to the visioning, strategic
planning, theming, and selling for each
residential and commercial enclave of such
project.
We have successfully closed a major leasing
transaction for an FMCG company (2,000 sq
m). Given our strong growth in the
commercial easing segment, Colliers also has
been since sought after by most MNCs for
residential leasing exercises. Property
management service line has further branched
out and catered the needs of recreational
projects.
Business continues to be prosperous. Property
management has further enhanced its capacity
in residential and retail projects while project
sales service line ventured to selling wholesale
developments. Markedly, this year, CIM also
managed to achieve the following milestones:
renewed and fortified relations with
government institutions and agencies; and
having been given the chance to be of great
assistance in the business venture of two large
conglomerates in Asia – Ayala Corporation and
Yoma Strategic Holdings Inc.
To date, CIM remains the only real estate
service provider that offers holistic services in
the whole of Myanmar. Going forward, our
strategy is to remain the leading real estate
consultants, providing exemplary transactional,
advisory, and management services.
